El Carmelo’s Leadership Club has been busy this year making the world a better place! Led by 4th grade teacher Kendall Smith and 3rd grade teacher Christina Nosek, the club is comprised of many dedicated fourth and fifth grade students.
Some highlights of the 2009-2010 school year have been putting together Smile Bags for families at The Ronald McDonald House, organizing the annual trick-or-treat for Unicef event, planting trees on campus, starting a collection for the people of Haiti with over $800 raised and counting, and now organizing The Soup-er Bowl for The Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties.
The Leadership Club meets once a month to discuss projects, and will continue in the 2010-2011 school year. All fourth and fifth graders are encouraged to join!
